Why I love weight training

Updated: Mar 20, 2020

Weight training, or resistance training, helps to keep your bones strong and builds muscle, which is important as we age, to help prevent fractures and falls. Plus, did you know that if you build some muscle, this increases your metabolism, meaning you will burn more fat for fuel when resting. I do also like the post ‘feel good factor’ that you get after a training session, which makes you feel awesome.

You can exercise just using your bodyweight – try squats, press ups or lunges. Also, a favourite bit of kit of mine, is using suspension training. You can also lift weights or use resistance machines at home or in the gym.
